A photoshoot is a big investment! In order to make the most of the experience, it is important to be prepared. Here’s what you can do to help the photographer capture the best images:
If you are tired or your kids are not well-rested, it will show; not just with dark circles under your eyes and pale skin, but it will be more difficult for you to smile and enjoy the shoot. The night before, make sure everyone goes to bed on time!
Hungry subjects will have a tough time relaxing while photos are being taken. Make sure to feed everyone beforehand and have some snacks on hand for kids during the photoshoot. Just stay away from anything that could stain clothing or teeth!
When choosing clothing for your shoot, opt for something true to your style. Stay away from white clothing – it can blend into the background and make photos appear flat – and anything with busy patterns or small stripes – these tend to ‘dance’ in photographs.
When in front of the camera, try to relax. Smile and don’t be afraid to try multiple poses. Sometimes you’ll be surprised which poses make for the best photos. Take the photographer’s suggestions – they often know what will look great!
